Essaouira
The city of Essaouira is a popular seaside resort with a sunny climate and superb beaches which are undoubtedly a paradise for surfers and other water sports such as windsurfing, kitesurfing, windsurfing, etc.
The Medina of Essaouira is made up of picturesque alleys, notably “La Scala de la Kasbah”. The city is known by cabinet makers (especially for the construction of wooden boats), and especially in the manufacture of argan oil, the tree of which only grows in this region of Morocco! Finally, Essaouira is also famous for its art galleries. In addition, its port is an essential place to visit to better understand the history of the city, which lives mainly from fishing. In the morning, the return of the boats and the auction are a real spectacle not to be missed.
The imposing ramparts encircling the old Medina were built in the 18th century to protect the city from foreign invasions. It is the ideal place to contemplate the sunset with a view of the harbor.
Also, the souk of Essaouira represents a plunge into the local culture. Divided into several parts, the souk consists of a fish market, a spice square, an auction market, and finally a jewelers market where you can buy sublime jewelry in gold or silver. Objects from Moroccan crafts (carpets, leather goods, etc.) are also available there.
