Chefchaouen

Located in the northeast of the country, this blue city transports us to an enchanting and imaginary place. The tradition of painting everything blue dates back to the Jewish community who settled there in the 15th century. The color reflects the sky and reminds of God. It also gives a feeling of freshness, unlike anywhere else in Morocco.

Its narrow streets decorated with rugs, fabrics, herbs, baskets and handicrafts, make it a welcoming city. You can also discover other historical monuments of the city such as the source of Ras El Maa (3 km from the city of Chefchaouen), the old medina, quiet and small with the Kasbah, the waterfalls and the mosque of Cherafat, the forest of Talassemtane, the cave of Toughoubit and the bridge of God in Akchour.

Chefchaouen is located in the Rif mountains in an incredible environment. It’s a great place to walk around and take photos from morning to night. There are several local restaurants to discover and several markets to explore, thanks to this the town has become a very popular vacation and tourist spot, especially for Europeans who visit northern Morocco. The townspeople speak Spanish, not French or Arabic, and the balance between convenience and authenticity is fair. The city is also home to many skilled artisans who make authentic rugs and leather goods. Perfect keepsakes you can get yourself!
