Find below the measures adopted by tourist services in Morocco to guarantee you a pleasant stay:
Cafes and restaurants
On prior reservation, it is possible to access the various cafes and restaurants while respecting certain sanitary measures. You should always wear your mask when entering and whenever you stand up to move around. At the entrance, your temperature is checked and you are invited to disinfect your hands. To ensure the safety of all customers, entry and exit lanes are separated. As for the number of people per table, it is also limited in relation to the safety distance.
Beaches, resorts and wellness centers
Private bathing establishments have also made several efforts to guarantee the health of all their customers. As general health protocol is followed, body temperature is checked upon entry and hand disinfection is required. In the case of wellness centers, the entry and exit routes are separate. Respect for social distancing is recommended, and the wearing of masks is mandatory in common areas. In order to fully benefit from these activities, it is advisable to follow all the instructions mentioned at the reception of these establishments and to obtain information beforehand by telephone. Public beaches are closed.
Hotels and accommodations
A reservation is required to fully benefit from your stay in hotels, resorts, riads and all classified accommodation structures. Wearing a mask is compulsory in reception rooms, catering areas and any other common room. In order to guarantee compliance with the health measures dictated by the authorities, the staff of the tourism sector is trained to guide you and guarantee you the best possible stay. It should also be noted that body temperature is checked upon entry, and hand disinfection may also be required. In addition, several structures offer the possibility of booking swimming pools online. Compliance with social distancing measures and hygiene rules is also required.
Museums and cultural sites
Several museums and cultural venues are currently closed. When they reopen, access will be limited to a specific number of people with a reservation option. The temperature will be checked, followed by hand disinfection. As the entry and exit routes are separate, the safety distance must be respected in the event of waiting. Within these establishments, it would be preferable to avoid touching objects and to follow the indicated and signposted routes. Wearing a mask is compulsory.
Cinemas and theaters
Cinemas and theaters are currently closed. When they reopen, admission may be subject to reservation. All measures will be taken to protect your health and safety: a marked and indicated route, a reading of the temperature at the entrance, disinfection of the hands and numbered and separated seats to keep a safe distance. It should be noted that wearing a mask is compulsory to attend shows in cinemas and theaters.
Natural parks, green spaces and playgrounds
In playgrounds, green spaces and public nature parks, regular disinfection of your hands is recommended. Wearing a mask is compulsory. A physical distance of at least one meter is recommended. In private spaces, a temperature reading and hand disinfection are mandatory at the entrance, as well as the wearing of a mask.
Shops and commercial activities
In shops, boutiques, malls and local stores, it is mandatory to wear your mask to protect yourself and others. It is brought to your attention that at the entrance of each store, disinfectants are available to customers, as well as thermal scanners to check body temperature. As the number of customers is limited in these areas, it is mandatory to respect the safety distance in the queue. During your stay, it is recommended to inquire about the opening and closing hours of the stores.
Tourist guides
Tour guides will receive a hygiene kit and disinfected audio equipment before and after each visit. Wearing a mask is compulsory throughout the visit. It is mandatory to respect the rules of social distancing and to disinfect hands after each contact.
Means of transport
To move freely in Morocco, several means of transport are available: taxis, buses, trams, trains, coaches and rental cars. Please note that trips may be subject to police checks at the entrance to each city.
To ensure your safety on public transport, it is mandatory to wear a mask, keep a safe distance from other passengers and sit in the seats reserved for you.
If you decide to travel by car, wearing a mask becomes mandatory if you are accompanied.
